Pallet Racks in St. Petersburg, FL
St. Petersburg is a two-speed warehouse market. On one side you have the Gateway and Carillon district on I-275, where Gateway Logistics Center is adding six buildings of roughly 78,000 to 150,000 square feet with 32-foot clear heights. On the other side, the Warehouse Arts District near downtown still runs small older shop buildings where every square foot has to work.
Those two building types need completely different rack plans. A 32-foot clear box can carry five or six beam levels of selective rack. A low older bay earns its keep with shelving and a mezzanine. We design for the building you actually have.
Racking the New Gateway Buildings
Gateway Logistics Center at I-275 and Gandy Blvd is the largest industrial development Pinellas County has seen in over two decades, about 622,000 square feet at full build-out. With 32 feet of clear height, the layout question is how many beam levels your pallet height and forklift reach will support.
We start with your pallet dimensions and load weight, then set beam levels so the highest level still clears your heaviest unit load. Tall selective rack covers most SKU mixes here; pushback rack adds density where a few SKUs run deep.
Final-Mile Space at Meridian Gateway
Meridian Gateway off Roosevelt Blvd and 34th Street N is a four-building, roughly 167,000 square foot final-mile park with dock-high and grade-level loading, close to I-275, US-19 and Ulmerton Road. Final-mile buildings live and die by dock flow.
We keep fast movers in selective rack near the dock doors and stage slower stock deeper in the building, so vans and box trucks turn fast at the dock.
Older Bays Near Downtown
The Warehouse Arts District mixes small industrial and shop buildings with creative uses. Clear heights are low and floor space is tight, so the answer is usually shelving, a mezzanine level, or a short run of selective rack sized to the door positions.
We measure the bay, check door swing and column locations, and draw a layout that adds storage without blocking how you work.
Freight Access Around the City
St. Petersburg connects to Tampa by the Gandy and Howard Frankland crossings, with CSX rail, the Port of St. Petersburg, and both St. Pete-Clearwater International and Albert Whitted airports in play. If you receive by rail or air, tell us your inbound pattern and we will plan rack rows around your receiving rhythm.
How We Quote a St. Petersburg Building
Every quote starts with measurements: pallet length, depth, height and loaded weight, plus how many pallets you hold per SKU. Those numbers set beam spacing, beam capacity and whether a dense system earns its floor space.
Your forklifts matter just as much. Lift height and capacity at height decide how many beam levels are usable, and turning radius sets the aisle width. A photo of the data plate is enough.
You receive a CAD layout with pallet positions and capacities in writing, so the decision is made on numbers rather than guesses.
