Cantilever racking solves that with columns and arms and no front upright. Loads slide on and off from the side at any length.

Storage for Marine and Boat Parts
With water on three sides, Pinellas has a strong marine and boat parts trade. Masts, aluminum tube, rub rail, trailer frames and hull materials come in lengths that break normal rack.

Sizing Arms, Columns and Levels
We start with the longest and heaviest item you store. Arm length covers the depth of the load, and column spacing supports it without too much sag between arms.
Arm capacity is rated per arm, so we add up the weight carried on each level. Many buyers are surprised how much a bundle of steel pipe actually weighs.
Levels are set by the height of each bundle and the reach of your forklift or side-loader.
- Single-sided runs along a wall, double-sided runs in the middle of the floor.
- Straight or inclined arms, depending on whether loads might roll.
- Arm stops and decking for mixed or smaller items.
Fitting Long Loads Into Tight Buildings
Industrial space near the CSX Clearwater Subdivision line in north and central St. Petersburg, and along US-19, tends to come in older, tighter buildings. Long material is hard to maneuver in them.
Going vertical with cantilever arms frees floor that would otherwise hold stacked lumber or pipe on dunnage.
We lay out the aisle so a forklift or side-loader can turn and approach the arms squarely.

Some operations store long stock under a canopy or in an outdoor yard. Cantilever runs can be specified with a finish suited to that exposure.
